ACM Network Access

ACM recenlty aquired a number of computers, including 3 servers, that are being setup for their paid members to use. The computers will be running Ubuntu server with a number of technologies installed for the students to learn on. Some of those technologies include:

  • GNU Octave
  • Nvidia CUDA
  • Python

Servers

We encourage our members to use these servers for writing programs in parallel to gain experience without having to spend their own moneyon semi-expensive hardware.

BOINC Network

We are setting up a BOINC network amongst our ACM members to have a powerful distributed computing enviornment to use for writing distributed programs. We encourage our members to donate their idle CPU time to the club so everyone can take advantage of the technology. Its a great chance to practice their programming and help their peers get the same practice.

Student Workshops

Each Quarter, CSULA ACM sponsors one or more student workshops conducted by members. Workshop topics range from Intro to Web Design to PC Upgrades. These workshops aim to give students direct, hands-on experience and to answer any questions related to the subject at hand. If needed, a computer lab will be available for each workshop. The workshop schedule is available on the calendar.
